It’s that time of year when warm-season grasses go into dormancy and we get ready to retire our lawn care tools. However, there are many things you should be doing to your lawns in the fall to ensure that the soil stays healthy during the winter and to encourage a strong green-up next spring. That said, here are 10 fall care hacks to achieve a healthy lawn the next season.
1) Do Annual Maintenance
The end of summer and the beginning of fall is the perfect time to do your annual maintenance on your lawn gear. Sharpen your lawnmower blades, get an extra string for your trimmer, grease the chains, throw out broken equipment, etc.
Why do I suggest doing this now? The main reason is that you are already in ‘lawn care’ mode and getting these things done now, for most, is easier to do than in the spring. Plus you will start to find price discounts on lawn care items if you need to replace any for next year.
